Gravity Brewing Sticker Story from John Fischer on Vimeo.

Gravity Brewing owner John Frazee is a former engineer turned craft brewer and has been brewing beer for 16 years. Located in the small town of Louisville, Colorado Gravity Brewing represents the best of local craft beer in a venue that inspires community.

Gravity Brewing is only a hop, skip, and a jump away from StickerGiant headquarters, so we couldn’t pass up the chance to take a field trip with our film crew for an interview. It was particularly enlightening to hear about the ways Gravity prefers to rep their stickers for brand recognition. The overwhelming response? Festival swag. John says stickers are an easy and affordable way to spread the Gravity Brewing vibe. At Gravity, they love their customers. “Stickers help show fans how much they care.” says John, and we couldn’t agree more.

Q&A with John Frazee

What do people really dig about your product/services?:

I believe people like the fact that we always have a wide variety of high quality beer styles available. There is that saying, “Quality, not Quantity.” Why settle for just one? We strive to have both. Belgian, German, American, etc. Session beers, big beers (although we lean towards the latter). We are excited to try it all and not cut any corners in the process.

Who are the awesome people behind the curtain at your company/project and what do they do?:

My two business partners are Julius Hummer (Brewmaster) and Ryan Bowers (Managing Partner). Julius has been brewing professionally his entire adult life and is the son of David Hummer (Original Founder/Brewmaster of Boulder Beer/Brewing Co). Ryan is a Mechanical Engineer and craft beer lover. He is an extreme resource when it comes to brewery design/engineering and business finance.

As for myself, I am a former long time home-brewer and practicing Civil Engineer. Julius and myself conceive and brew all of our beers together. I also manage the business, which is much less glamorous. We could not do any of this without our awesome tasting room staff: Steve, Abby, Kristy, Kat, Jenni, Karen, and several other friends/family/investors that have helped along the way.

Why/How do you use stickers as a marketing or outreach tactic?:

People love free stuff. We hand out our stickers in our tasting room and at beer festivals. This is a simple and relatively inexpensive way to get our logo and brand in front of the beer drinking community and beyond. It is really cool when I’m out skiing and I see a Gravity sticker on a pair of skis or a helmet. People love to put them on their beer fridges as well.

What advice would you give to a company thinking about using stickers as a marketing tactic to wow their fans. What has worked for you, what hasn’t, etc?:

Stickers are a no brainer in the craft beer world. Get them and never run out of them. Stick with a simple and consistent image/logo and use StickerGiant!!

List some ways that fans can support your brand to encourage growth apart from buying your product or service?:

We’d like to think we are pretty good at making beer, however, we will admit that we are not the best at marketing/advertising. If you like what your tasting and seeing, please spread the word. Like us on Facebook. Follow us on twitter. Join our e-mail list via our website. Grab some stickers next time we see you at the tasting room or a beer festival. Buy a cool t-shirt, hat, or hoodie and wear them all over town, every day, even when you sleep.
Attach a file or just a fun picture that speaks to your passions!

Can you leave links to your social media outlets so that our community can get social with you?:
